Sample Letter to Disney/ABC Radio Networks

Sample letter:

Dear Disney Executives:

It has come to my knowledge that Disney owns ABC Radio Networks, a system of 400 radio stations on which Sean Hannity’s radio program airs three hours per day.

As a proud patriotic and concerned American, I am appalled at the lies, distortions and vicious attacks spewed by Mr. Hannity against progressives, minorities and democrats. Mr. Hannity makes his living belittling anyone who is not radical, right-wing Republican, he also criticizes the “Liberal Media” as a whole. This “group” is considered to be any media outlet that is not conservative, right wing… or as he proudly boasts: “Fair & Balanced.” Finally, Hannity regularly presents misrepresentations of truth, distortions, and outright lies to the public.

What is ironic, and certainly hypocritical, is that Mr. Hannity airs these distortions and hate-speech via the airwaves of a liberal company ... The Disney Corporation. My family and I don’t understand how or why Disney supports and promotes such programming and views. It is not in the best interest of the public, or common decency, for ABC Radio Networks to broadcast thousands of hours of divisive, factually challenged, hate-speech without providing equal time. From Sean Hannity, to Bill O'Reilly and Al Rantell your network feature hate-filled messages daily on stations all across America. This must end now.

Can you please tell the listening audience and the public at large why Disney, a "family oriented company" is supporting such distortions, lies, and slurs without equal time when it clearly goes against everything Disney supposedly stands for? Until equal time and fact checking is required policy of any host presented on your network, we will respectfully withhold our patronage of The Disney Corporation advertisers who sponsor The Sean Hannity Show, The Radio Factor, The Al Rantell show and any radio personality who promotes hate speech aided and abetted by outright lies and distortions.
