Tell Bill O'Reilly's ADVERTISERS what you think of his threats!
As many of you know, Bill O'Reilly is now threatening his callers with a "visit" from Fox Security and "local authorities," to anyone who mentions Keith Olbermann's name when calling into his radio show. Apparently, Mr. O'Reilly feels that the mere mention of the name "Keith Olbermann" is harrassment.
Here is some video of the action from Keith Olbermann:

This is America, Bill. When people disagree, or just merely want to express an opinion, that is their 1st Amendment right... and they shouldn't be threatened or intimidated. However, mentioning a rival broadcaster's name unfortunately doesn't qualify as "harrassment," or "obscene," and doesn't warrant a "visit from the authorities."
The sad irony about this situation is that this bully with a microphone (who is himself an expert in phone harrassment) is using the airwaves to threaten listeners.
There are a variety of companies, (large and small) who advertise and sponsor O'Reilly's programs. I think it is now time to contact Mr. O'Reilly's advertisers and ask them why they are supporting this host. Do they really want their product to be associated with someone who threatens their callers?!
We at Ad Nausea will be posting a list of O'Reilly's advertisers so you may ask them why they support a host who bullies, threatens, and attacks his audience, when there are so many other advertising options available in the marketplace.
We have begun by selecting one company INSURE.COM who is featured on O'Reilly's home page: http://www.billoreilly.com/
Please join us by contacting INSURE.COM and let them know how you feel about their advertising on Mr. O'Reilly's website and their support of such a host:

Insure.com seems to be very worshipful of O'Reilly. They may be a difficult target for pressure. They may be appropriate for a boycott and pressure on shareholders and such if possible rather than more friendly lobbying. Do you have any less blindly worshipful sponsors to target?
A parallel effort that I have been pushing is lobbying advertisers of Chris Matthews' show. This is partly based on Chris Matthews boycott site. I think, given the plummetting ratings of people like O'Reilly, now is a good time for this kind of effort.
Mole333: Thank you for visiting. Let us know if there is a particular advertiser you'd like us to contact.
The Chris Matthews site is excellent. He is clearly out of control. Especially his obsession with Hillary possibly running in `08.
Thanks for all you are doing! I do not have any other O'Reilly advertisers in mind, though I would be happy to publicize any that you dig up.
I have pushed the Insure.com boycott...and now I am billing it as a boycott given the response from Mr. Bland. I think they are getting more letters because they stopped saying that they only got 5 letters and they have, according to some, have gotten more strident.
In terms of the Chris Matthews site, I have found Bayer to be particularly interested in our complaints. They may be a good target for gentle, polite lobbying. Turbo tax is a good target for the next month since it is tax time. And Verizon is a company that has given in to right wing pressure repeatedly, so we should demand equal consideration. If we can target those three Matthews advertisers, we may have an effect.
